Youth Groups volunteer at Clothing Bank

About 20 young people from four student organizations helped HandsOn West Central Ohio, at Grace Resurrection Community Center, prepare its fall clothing bank.

Summer clothes had earlier been packed and removed from clothing racks, to be replaced by clothing intended for fall and winter wear.

According to Sherry Baker, HandsOn volunteer, the volunteers were needed to lift and move boxes up stairs into the clothing bank for season clothing changes.

"(They) must have a desire to help people and have a positive attitude," she said. "This opportunity assures that people in need have a place to go for free clothing in the community."

HandsOn volunteer Sue Huston said the group effort was represented by the GHS Key Club, Student Council and Medical Tech, and Youth for Christ members.

Approximately 10 of the volunteers are members of this year's Key Club. The 2010-2011 Key Club has over 70 members and already has nearly 700 hours of community service under its belt.
