At 10:30 Friday September 17, 2010, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7262, the Ladies Auxiliary and the City of Greenville through Mayor Bowers conducted a brief but meaningful ceremony in recognition of the annual POW-MIA Remembrance Day.  A prayer by Pastor Sam Hoeflich, VFW Chaplain was received by those present with sincere emotion. The event ended with the addition of the black MIA flag beneath the Star Spangled Banner and the Ohio State Flag.

As of August 2010, nearly 82,000 Americans who served in the military are still missing in action. This day of Remembrance is to ensure that America remembers its responsibility to stand behind those who serve our nation and do everything possible to account for those who do not return. We hope to honor the commitments and the sacrifices made by our nation's prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.
