Report - Walls is Miss Annie Oakley 2010

Meet Miss Annie Oakley 2010
Ruby Jo Walls

Ansonia freshman, Ruby Jo Walls, 14, took the shooting competition in the 14th round at 90 feet.

Second runner up was Molly Magoto, 15, Greenville High School sophomore; first runner up was Terah Colby, also 15 and a Greenville High School sophomore.
“More pictures?” Walls said, as people kept asking her to pose – with trophy, with her runners up, with rifle, again in front of the target, and in the case of one request… taking her winning shot again.
Somebody commented that she’d get used to it.
Her shyness was noted by Leah Metzger, Miss Annie Oakley 2009.
“She’s kind of like me when I won the competition last year,” Metzger said. “Being Annie for a year brought me out of my shell… it will be interesting to watch her as she goes through her year.”
She added that she is going to miss all of the activities and events, but she’ll have great memories of her year. With her in the photo is her younger sister Loryn.
Loryn wasn’t sure if she would be taking on the Miss Annie Oakley challenge when her chance arrived.
A familiar site for Annie Oakley Festival enthusiasts is Loretta Jones, Annie Oakley impersonator, who has been gracing the festivities for several years.
Also in attendance at the competition were several contest winners from years past: In addition to Metzger (far right), there were (left to right) Jenna Dowler, Darlene Osborne, Kristina Klein and Hannah Linebaugh.
