Opinion Special Edition - I Can't Wait

I can’t wait
That’s My Opinion – Special Edition
By Bob Robinson

I can’t stand it.
I’ve tried to be generous. I really have. I’ve tried hard… after all Mr. Obama is the leader of the free world. At least until we lose our status as the “leading” nation in the free world.
If we aren’t there yet, we’re well on our way.
I’ve resisted buying into the “not a U.S. citizen by birthright” argument. I resisted all of the bumper stickers accusing him of being a socialist, communist and what-have-you. I resisted comparing his rise to stardom to that of a Hollywood left “hero” aided by corrupt Chicago political machines. I resisted the jibes as he stood there with his hands at his sides while others “saluted” with hands over their hearts. I resisted screaming bloody murder as he kowtowed to the leaders of other countries, large and small, many of whose friendship can legitimately be questioned…
I’ve even resisted using the hundreds of Obama jokes and cartoons that I’ve received in the last year and a half… and some of them were hilarious!
Well… I have to admit I was delighted to post Don Wright’s “Hope & Change” banner. But give me a break. Don’s a local icon, and I don’t have a problem laughing at our own stupidity for electing the Pied Piper to lead us to disaster.
It’s either that or cry.
We asked for it. Right or wrong — whether or not we lost our minds, or succumbed to mass hysteria, a year ago November — we elected Barack H. Obama the 44th president of the United States of America.
I was raised to respect the office, but I cannot respect the man.
He has taken over the portions of the auto industry, Wall Street, banks and health care.
We asked for lower insurance premiums and better access to coverage; he gave us a mandatory program that will cost more. We asked for federal help in a slumping economy; he gave us double-digit unemployment, unprecedented growth in big government and the largest national debt in history. We needed sensible answers to a continuing energy crisis; he gave us “Green.”
He promised he would be there to answer the phone if it “rang” at 3 o’clock in the morning due to an attack or national crisis… he was nowhere to be found when the largest ecological disaster in our history hit the Gulf of Mexico.
He said we could trust him to deal with the terrorism that threatens our very existence. We’ve been attacked three times that I am aware of, and he wants to hold hands and sing “Kum-By-Ya” with the perps.
He’s even destroyed one of America’s signature agencies to do it.
We all heard that NASA’s funding has been cut. Obama released his plan for the agency a few months ago, and according to Byron York of the Washington Examiner, “to many it seemed a blueprint for disaster. The moon program will be scrapped, replaced by a hazy hope to visit Mars. The space shuttle will die, too, leaving America with no way to put a man in orbit.”
What Mr. Obama didn’t tell us was that NASA’s new mission now included making “nice” with the Muslims.
The Examiner reports:
"When I became the NASA administrator, [Obama] charged me with three things," NASA head Charles Bolden said in a recent interview with the Middle Eastern news network al-Jazeera. "One, he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."
The agency that put us on the moon and has, for decades, developed scientific advancements that have improved the quality of life in our society has now been reduced to babysitting for nations, some of whom foster terrorists who want us wiped off the face of the earth.
"NASA is not only a space exploration agency," Bolden concluded in his interview, "but also an Earth improvement agency."
Bolden gave a bleak assessment of the space part of NASA's mission. More than 40 years after the first moon landing, he told al-Jazeera, the U.S. can no longer reach beyond Earth's orbit without assistance from abroad.
"We're not going to go anywhere beyond low Earth orbit as a single entity," Bolden said. "The United States can't do it."
Its space initiatives junked, its administrator rhapsodizing about helping Muslims "feel good" about themselves: That is the new NASA.
Thank you Mr. Obama. I can now “buy” into the quote that’s been bouncing around the Internet for 18 months: “America is the greatest nation on earth; help me change it.”
So what else do you have in store for us? I can’t wait to find out.
That’s my opinion. What’s yours?

Why does it always seem that a Democratic President can do so much without going thru Congress and Republican Presidents hit a brick wall and get nothing done. President Obama has made government so much bigger with all his auto czars, bank czars, etc and all their staff. What happened to free enterprise? How can the public not see that we are becoming a socialist country? Any time the govenment gets too involved, they screw it up so lets put them in charge of our banks, health care and everything else. Yet the federal govenment has yet to get involved with illegal immigrants except to sue the one state trying to get control.
