Law Director provides ordinance draft

GREENVILLE — At Tuesday’s meeting of the Greenville City Council, Law Director Jeff Amick presented a draft of an ordinance “adopting residency restrictions relating to sex offenders, child-victim offenders, and Tier I, II, and III sex offenders/child victim offenders; and, providing for injunctive relief.”

“I would ask that no action be taken on this tonight,” said Amick as the drafts were passed around to the members of council. “Please, just review this very closely.”

Amick was very clear that this is only a draft for the council’s perusal. The council agreed to take no action at the meeting, and will spend at least the next two weeks examining the document.
