Redstate... On Vick and Values

From Redstate.com…
On Vick and Values
12/29/10

The Philadelphia Eagles signed convicted “dog killer” Michael Vick upon his release from prison… Obama chimed in with the “give the guy a second chance” rhetoric – reaction was strong on both sides…

Read the article…

Then note the last paragraph…
Vick did his time in jail and claims to be rehabilitated.  Fine.  But let’s not forget how we got here in the first place and why he’s back in uniform: because we increasingly place more value on scoring points/runs/goals - and perhaps on winning elections - than we do on the character of those who are directly involved and on the values that should drive behavior in America.  In the words of one of my esteemed Redstate colleagues: wouldn’t it be nice if there was as much rage over the millions of aborted babies in this country as there has been over the dogs that Vick killed? (emphasis added)

This should be a wake-up call for all of us!
