ACLU Priorities... one perspective

City’s over assertiveness should attract ACLU attention
The city of Marion plans to ban all tobacco use on the city-owned properties. They have extended this ban to include all outdoor areas including parks. “Employees also will be prohibited from using tobacco during working hours – even while off-site.”  Dayton Daily News 09 25 2010
This obvious intrusion on the individual personal liberties should be a magnet case for the ACLU. Although it may be a disappointment to some, it seems unlikely that Greenville will be entertained by a visit from the ACLU; when it comes to civil liberties, ex-offenders will receive a very low priority when compared to the individual’s right to smoke a cigarette.
