Garst Lecture Series Schedule

All lectures are free and open to the public. Support for the Garst Lecture series comes from the HOPE Foundation, and the Harry D. Stephens Memorial Fund.

February 20, 2011
2:00 PM - The Garst Museum offers a Black History lecture by Roane Smothers. Roane will share stories of African Americans from the Longtown area and Darke County who left to fight in the Civil War.

Sunday, March 6, 2011
2:00 PM - Native American flute and story telling performance by John DeBoer.

Sunday, April 10, 2011
2:00 PM - Mark Holbrook as Matthew Brady, the Civil War photographer. Mark will bring slides of many of Brady’s Civil War battlefield photographs. If you are a Civil War buff or if you had ancestors who served in the Civil War, you will want to attend.
