“More Americans now disapprove of President Barack Obama than approve of him as high unemployment and government spending scare voters ahead of November's midterm elections, Reuters/Ipsos poll found on Tuesday.”
According to a Tuesday Newsmax report, nearly three-fourths of the American public is worried about joblessness, and two-thirds are concerned about government spending.
“The unemployment rate of 9.5 percent and the huge budget deficit are dragging down the Democrats and eating away at Obama's popularity only 20 months after he took office on a wave of hope that he could turn around the economy,” Newsmax continued.
And the news channels reported today that existing home sales had plummeted in July to their lowest level in 15 years.
The top Republican in the House of Representatives, U.S. Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio), called on the administration's economic team to quit.
"It's time to put grown-ups in charge," he said.
Obama's disapproval rating was 52 percent in Tuesday's poll, overtaking his approval rating for the first time in an Ipsos poll, Newsmax said, adding that only 45 percent of people said they approved of the president's performance, down from 48 percent last month.

As always, Rasmussen has his disapproval rating in the high teens, ranging from -17 percent to an occasional -20 percent.
In the meantime, Texas Governor Rick Perry has accused President Barack Obama of "gambling with American lives" after a bullet believed to be from a gun battle in Mexico hits a building in the US state. This from an earlier Newsmax report.
Some 28,000 people have died as drug cartels fight each other (and the Mexican government) for the lucrative routes into our lucrative U.S. market, and it’s now spilling over into U.S. territory.
Perry says it’s “unconscionable” that protecting our borders doesn’t seem to be a priority of our president. I agree.
But what the heck. It’s only a Constitutional mandate, and he’s been ripping that document to shreds for nearly 17 months.
However, all is well. Mr. Obama, the savior of 2008 who is hell bent on changing the Vast American Wasteland, has proven to us Great Unwashed that he is indeed human. He’s taking a vacation to “recharge his batteries.”
It will be his sixth one this year.
